Low Income Household Water Assistance Program – LIHWAP

Program offered by the Missouri Department of Social Services to provide a one-time payment for water and/or wastewater bills. Can be used to pay current bills, past due bills, disconnection or reconnection fees. Program is for Missouri residents who are at or below 60% of the state median income. For a family of four, 60% would be $4,252 a month or $51,021 a year. Applications and instructions can be found and submitted on line at https://mydss.mo.gov/utility-assistance  East Missouri Action Agency has applications in their office but are unable to assist with filling out the paperwork.
