Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center

Public health center offering services that include vital records, environmental services, and disaster and emergency preparedness. Other health services include: Asthma Management, Rural Health Clinic, Communicable Disease Surveillance and Reporting, Daycare Consultants, Flu Immunization Clinics, HIV-AIDS Case Management, Immunizations, Pregnancy Testing & Temporary Medicaid, Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinic, Tuberculosis Screening and WIC. The Rural Health Clinic provides primary pediatric care including well and sick care by appointment, childhood immunizations, and physical exams for children birth to 18 years. Minor illnesses can be seen at the clinic, but no emergency care is given. Well Woman’s Care is also offered for exams, testing and screening. Also provides a program that supplies pack-and-plays to women who are 25 weeks pregnant or to those who have an infant up to 3 months old. Must have Medicaid, be a WIC participant or live below federal poverty guidelines. Also sponsors the Oral Health Coalition which is a community-based coalition working to improve oral health among the community’s children and seniors through prevention, education, and increased access to dental care.
