American Childhood Cancer Organization

Offers information and support services to families experiencing childhood cancer. Information on research, treatment and survivorship are offered. Works to raise awareness and provides advocacy at the legislative level. Also offers free literature and books. The Missouri affiliate organization helps to pay for meals for a family while the child is in the hospital, provides gas money for the families traveling to and from the University of Missouri-Columbia hospital, covers the purchase of wigs, helps cover the cost of medications that insurance won’t cover, and helps with the cost of a child to attend camp in the summer. Also pays rent to the Ronald McDonald House so that a room will always be ready for a Candlelighter child. Candlelighters of the University of Missouri-Columbia
