Big Brothers Big Sisters
Agency provides mentoring and initiatives to support young people at home, in school and in the community. One to One mentoring for youth ages 5 to 17 matches one adult with one child. Big Couples and Big Families matches a youth with a couple or a family. Big Responders matches a youth with a first responder. The Amachi program matches one youth with an incarcerated parent with one adult/couple/family. Also provides initiatives that work to accelerate school performance and job readiness. ABCToday provides an early-warning system that tracks student attendance, behavior and course performance in reading and math. Program then provides incentives/interventions that can spur better student outcomes and experiences. First Job Initiative provides teens age 14-17 with hard- and soft skills training, and creating space for connections with industry professionals. Big Futures Initiative assists alumni littles as they pursue further education, enlisting in the military or living wage employment. For alumni littles ages 17 to 25.
