Cape Girardeau Job Center
Agency provides multiple services related to employed and job skills. Basic services include use of computers, copy machines, fax and telephone for employment purposes. Other services include workshops and skills-based training, assessments including Workkeys, Talify, Work Readiness and One-Stop Career Matcher, mock interviews and resume development.
Additional services include programs for obtaining HISET (GED), on-the-job training, supportive services and tuition assistance eligibility options. The WIOA Youth program is also offered for those age 14-24 that are facing barriers to employment. The Skill Up program is designed to assist food stamp recipients in obtaining livable wage employment through job search, training, and education. Temporary Assistance recipients can participate in the Missouri Work Assistance (MWA) program that helps with job preparation, training and supportive services. Agency team members can also provide assistance with training and job search in high demand fields. Individuals who meet income guidelines may be eligible for funding assistance for trainings in high demand fields. A Veteran’s Representative is also on site to work with veterans and active military members seeking employment.
