Horizons Enrichment Center

The Horizons Center serve adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Cape Girardeau, Scott, and Bollinger counties. Program is designed to encourage independence and community interaction. The program provides supportive programming each day by teaching basic life skill lessons, offering a variety of services and providing the opportunity to access community facilities and events. Uses a medical model program with a full time nurse on staff during scheduled program hours. The program provides respite for the care givers and transportation to and from the program. Accepts Medicaid and private insurance. Participants must have been diagnosed before age 18. Program sponsored by Department of Health and Senior Services and Department of Mental Health.
