Rehabilitation Services for the Blind

Provides a variety of assessment, advocacy, rehabilitation services to all age groups. Will assess anyone with a visual impairment for possible services and can pay for diagnostic eye exam. Goal of the program is to assist blind or visually impaired persons achieve his or her maximum potential in the home, community and in educational and employment settings. Programs include Vocational Rehabilitation, Children’s Services, Business Enterprise Program, Older Blind Services, Prevention of Blindness, and Independent Living Rehabilitation. Children’s services offers a specialist that can consult with public school systems to assist in the education process. Prevention program offers early detection and treatment of eye problems to prevent blindness. Program can cover the cost of eye treatment, guidelines apply.
